Let me introduce myself. My name is Lucy and I like to write.
And I like to write.
But not just words, sometimes I like to write music too.
I find that writing and music cross over quite a lot and I usually sit with headphones on trying to get inspiration for what I'm going to write next. Usually it is extraordinarily helpful, but other times I find that I just can't quite work the epic battle scene into the love story.
At the moment I enjoy listening to film and television soundtracks as I find the raw emotion helps trigger ideas. But anything from what's on the radio to music on the T.V can help the ideas flow too. At the moment I'm listening to Florence and the Machine's new album 'Ceremonials'. I like the use of instruments throughout her songs and her unique style. It's quite refreshing to sit down and listen to.
I'm studying A levels at the moment and I have taken ICT, English Literature, Music and Classical Civilisation. I've just finished analysing the position of Mr Darcy as a hero within the novel 'Pride and Prejudice.' And I'm also preparing to record my performance in music on the flute. I'm enjoying the sixth form experience at the moment despite the piles of homework.
